Al-Halbusi receives Russian president’s special envoy to the Middle East and African countries

 

The Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi received the Special Envoy of the Russian President to the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations, the promotion of joint cooperation in all fields and the conditions in the region.
Al-Halbusi stressed the continuation and activation of the work of the Baghdad Center for Quadripartite Cooperation between Iraq, Syria, Russia and Iran to share intelligence, as the next battle with terrorism is an intelligence battle to hunt down dormant terrorist cells.

H.E. affirmed Iraq’s keenness to strengthen relations with Russia, especially in the field of reconstruction, investment and benefit from the Russian experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

For his part, the Special Envoy of the Russian President congratulated al-Halbusi for taking charge of his position, stressing his country’s keenness to deepen relations with Iraq and joint coordination in various fields.
At the end of the visit Bogdanov made an invitation to the Speaker to visit Russia.
