Al-Halbusi receives the UNSG representative in Iraq
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi received, the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mr. Ján Kubiš.
The meeting discussed the political situations, including the support of the parliament for the work of the government and the need for cooperation of the political blocs in order to provide real steps to improve the situation in the country through the completion of the cabinet and to end the file of the acting management of the state institutions.
The meeting stressed the necessity of the commitment of various political forces to aspiration of the supreme religious authority, by respecting the options of the Prime Minister in nominating suitable personalities to complete the cabinet, combine legislative and executive efforts to provide services to citizens in all fields, provide employment opportunities, activate investment, close the file of displacement by providing the potential for the return of displaced people, reconstruction and stability in the liberated governorates and the implementation of national and community reconciliation.
H.E. the Speaker praised the efforts of the United Nations in Iraq in supporting the mechanisms and the course of democracy in the country, stressing at the same time the importance of UN encouraging the investors to work in Iraq in all areas to boost the economic reality.
