The Parliament Speaker meets the President of the Federal Supreme Court

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi visited the President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud, where the two sides discussed the strengthening of relations between the legislative and judicial institutions.
Al-Halboosi stressed during the meeting the determination of the parliament to enact a set of laws that serve the Iraqi citizen, pointing to the importance of the role of the Federal Supreme Court in controlling the constitutionality of what is issued by the authorities in the country.
For his part, al-Mahmoud stressed the continuation of cooperation between the parliament and the judiciary; in order to make laws in accordance with the Constitution and the principles set by the Federal Supreme Court.
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi has attended the Federal Supreme Court hearing to consider the law of the parliament and waiver of right to defense in the paragraph on the rights of pensions to the Parliament, and stressing the need to include the MP with the retirement law, similar to state employees.
