Al-Haddad: Violence against women rejected by the law and Islamic rulings
Under the slogan “No to Humiliation, Slavery and Tyranny; Yes to Equality and Coexistence”, the Chamber of Conferences held a dialogue seminar to discuss the manifestations of violence against women under the auspices of the Speaker of the Council of Representatives Mr. Mohammad al-Halbusi and in the presence of Deputy Speaker Dr. Bashir Haddad, a number of MPs and a number of representatives of civil society organizations and a gathering of intellectuals and media professionals.
Al-Haddad delivered a speech at the seminar in which he pointed to the importance of holding seminars, panel discussions and events to raise awareness and reduce violence against women in particular, and to prevent violence against men and children in general. He added: “violence against women is rejected by the law and Islamic rulings and a better society is achieved through ensuring the equality of women and men”.
