COR finishes discussing Provincial Elections and the Rights of Martyrs of the Air Base Laws

In its 22nd plenary session held on Tuesday, 11/6/2019, the Iraqi Council of Representatives ended discussion of two legislative proposals for the First Amendment to the Provincial Elections Law and the Rights of Martyrs of the Air Base, and proceeded to vote on one law.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Mohammad al-Halbusi and attended by 179 MPs.
At the outset of the session, the Council proceeded to vote on the legislative proposal for the first amendment for the Civil Printing Law No. (5) of 1999.
In another regard, the Council ended the reading of the report and discussion of the legislative proposals for the First Amendment to the Provincial Elections Law No. (12) for the year 2018, submitted by the Committees of Governorates Not Organized in a Region and legal Affairs.
The Speaker instructed to hold a meeting of the Presidency of the Council with the heads of parliamentary blocs and in the presence of the relevant committees on Sunday to discuss First Amendment to the Provincial Elections Law No. (12) for the year 2018. He also directed tohold another meeting on Monday, during which the members of the Electoral Commission and the representative of the government will be hosted for considering the proposals of the parliamentary blocs in order to discuss the law.
The Council completed reading the report and discussion of the legislative proposal for the Rights of Martyrs of the Air Base submitted by the Committees of Martyrs, Victims, Political Prisoners and Human Rights.
The session was then adjourned to next Thursday 13/6/2019.
