Al-Halboosi receives a number of elders, dignitaries and intellectuals of Salahuddin

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received on Wednesday elders and dignitaries of the Dulaim clans and a number of young academics and intellectuals in the province of Salahuddin.

During the meeting, H.E. listened to a presentation by a number of sheikhs, dignitaries and members of the municipal councils about the lack of services in the fields of education and health, security problems in some districts and sub-districts, threats of ISIS cells in remote areas, file of detainees, the compensations and the return of the displaced.

The Speaker said that the suffering of the people continues in all cities of Iraq because of the lack of services, but the liberated cities have suffered more damage because of the war on ISIS, and it is the responsibility of the state and its institutions to provide assistance to its people and justice to the oppressed, protect them and put a speedy treatment for the return of displaced people to their homes.

“You have to rebuild confidence between you and the institutions of the state and its security services, and strengthen the social fabric, which will create great opportunities for security and reduce violations,” he said, adding that tribes and their elders must take a national stand in the process of reconstruction and development in liberated cities, and the local governments should work with responsibility to offer services to its citizens.

“At the present time, you must give priority to the duties over rights to build your city again,” he said, adding that Salahuddin province needs additional efforts in support of the local government effort.
