Al-Halboosi receives Egyptian Ambassador

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received Mr. Alaa Mousa, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq.

The meeting discussed political developments in the country and packages of reforms launched by the Parliament to meet the legitimate demands of the demonstrators.

H.E. the Speaker stressed that the Parliament is continuing to achieve radical political and economic reforms, including comprehensive constitutional amendments and laws that serve the interests of the people and reassure Iraqis on their future.

He also stressed that the state and its political system are the ones that protect everyone and safeguard the rights, pointing out that strengthening economic relations between the two countries will push development to reflect positively on the needs of the Iraqi people, praising the role of Egypt and its concern for the unity and stability of Iraq.

For his part, the Egyptian ambassador expressed his country’s support for Iraq and its political system with all its legislative and executive institutions, praising the reforms that were achieved to meet the demands of the demonstrators and maintain the democratic process and contribute to the process of construction and development.
