Al-Haddad during his chairmanship of the meeting of the Constitutional Amendments Committee: “Any constitutional amendment can be made to expand the rights and freedom and ensure the deepening of the principles of justice, equality and human dignity”
Deputy Speaker Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad chaired the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for Constitutional Amendments on Monday 11/11/2019 with the presence of parliament members and representatives of unions and university professors and a number of consultants and experts in the field of law and writing constitutions.
During the meeting, Al-Haddad praised the efforts of the members of the Committee and the continuation of their work, stressing the importance of the project in this sensitive situation, as well as the need to involve all stakeholders and the contribution of experts and specialists, especially that the Iraqi Constitution is today one of the good constitutions in the world. He called on the audience to come up with recommendations and proposals that serve the process of the amendments in line with the requirements of the current state, adding that any constitutional amendment can be made to expand the rights and freedom and ensure the deepening of the principles of enumeration, equality and human dignity, and the revision of the Constitution is a positive mechanisms in accordance with the constitutional contexts followed by a referendum on the amendments passed by the Council of Representatives.
