Al-Kaabi chairs a joint meeting of Finance and Legal Committees to discuss Unified Retirement Law

The First Deputy Speaker Hassan Karim al-Kaabi chaired on Sunday, 10-11-2019 a joint meeting of the Parliamentary Committees of Finance and Legal Affairs to discuss the legislative proposal for Unified Retirement Law, which will be approved for the first time without including any exceptions, stressing that the desired reform will not be achieved without being approved by the Council of Representatives.

Kaabi stressed during the meeting on the need to pass this law as the first real law among the reformations demanded by Iraqis, which is an opportunity for the Council of Representatives to reflect its eagerness to meet these demands. He called on members of the two committees to intensify their meetings over the next few days in order to improve the items of this law and submit it for the final vote within days, stressing the importance of the law to be fair to all segments without including exceptions to ensure the unification of all Iraqis.
