Al-Halboosi meets the Kuwaiti Prime Minister
The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi, on Thursday met the Kuwaiti Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah.
The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and the strengthening of means of cooperation in all fields according to mutual interests, in addition to discussing the latest regional and international developments and the importance of joint coordination to face the challenges that the region is going through in light of the difficult circumstances it is going through.
The meeting also discussed the importance of coordination to create an effective practical mechanism to follow up the outcomes of the Kuwait Donors Conference to support the reconstruction of Iraq and create new investment opportunities.
His Excellency the Speaker also discussed with the Kuwaiti Prime Minister the file of the remaining payments of debts owed by the Iraqi government to Kuwait and the possibility of postponing them due to the financial crisis and the economic situation that the countries of the world are going through, including Iraq, where His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled al-Hamad al-Sabah promised that he would continue his efforts in this regard and that it would be among their priorities, referring to the recommendations of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait to support Iraq in all fields.
