Al-Haddad discusses with the Minister of the Interior facing challenges and extending security, stability and law enforcement in all regions of Iraq.
The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, received in his official office in Baghdad today, Wednesday, 9/23/2020, His Excellency the Minister of Interior, Mr. Othman Al-Ghanimi, During the meeting, which was attended by the Director of Relations and Media at the Ministry, Major General Dr. Saad Maan, they discussed the overall developments in the security situation and facing the challenges that the country is going through at this critical phase, especially the ramifications of the Corona pandemic and the precautionary and preventive measures, While the two sides stressed the need for continued and intensified efforts of the security and military ministries to reduce the occurrence of crimes and protect citizens’ lives.
Al-Haddad in the meeting referred to the importance of enhancing the level of security and military cooperation between ministries and security institutions in Baghdad and all governorates to achieve gains, those related to the efforts of fighting the remaining terrorist cells, prevent the occurrence of organized crimes, enabling the return of the displaced to their areas, and solve the problems that some areas and villages have witnessed in the Kirkuk governorate. His Eminence called for activating the intelligence effort, extending security and stability, preserving the prestige of the state, using all available legal means, and taking the necessary measures to enforce the law in all regions of Iraq.
This meeting was supplemented by an expanded meeting in the council’s building with the Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Committee in the presence of Deputy Sami’a Al-Ghalab, Head of the Committee and the attendance of the members of the committee and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Police Affairs, Lieutenant General Imad Al-Dailami, with a number of officer leaders. The file of identifying and protecting archaeological sites was discussed in coordination and cooperation between the Antiquities Commission and the Ministry of Interior, and fixing the tasks and roles between them.
