Al-Haddad: It is not possible to vote on electoral districts in the governorates of Kirkuk and Nineveh without consensus between representatives of the components.

Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad indicated in the meeting that was held in the presence of the Presidium of the Council of Representatives and the representatives of the governorates of Kirkuk and Nineveh and the head of the Legal Committee, that the vote on dividing the electoral districts for Kirkuk and Nineveh was postponed after the voting on the electoral districts of 16 governorates at last Saturday’s session is to give the representatives of the components an opportunity to reach an agreement that satisfies all parties. . The deputy speaker added that this evening will witness the vote on the remaining electoral districts for those two governorates.
Al-Haddad stated, “It is not possible to vote on the electoral districts in the governorates of Kirkuk and Nineveh without consensus between the representatives of the components,” indicating that the Council of Representatives always seeks to fulfil its required role and approve the necessary laws and legislation in line with the requirements of the stage and the aspirations of the masses.
