‏Al-Halboosi receives the Egyptian Prime Minister

‏The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi, on Saturday received the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Mostafa Madbouly, who is visiting Iraq at the head of a large ministerial delegation, in the presence of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hassan al-Kaabi and a number of heads of parliamentary committees.
‏During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance economic and trade partnership, reviewing memoranda, cooperation program and protocols signed between the two brotherly countries in various fields, including transportation, electrical connectivity, water resources, health, environment, justice, investment, housing, reconstruction, industry, trade and finance, as well as discussing a number of tripartite joint projects between Iraq Egypt and Jordan.
‏The Speaker of Parliament affirmed the support of the legislative authority to enhance the work of the joint Iraqi-Egyptian Higher Committee, through legislative measures to implement the agreements and protocols agreed upon between the two countries in accordance with mutual interests, noting the importance of cooperation between the two legislative authorities to support the Iraqi and Egyptian governments, as well as coordinating positions in Arab, European and Islamic international forums, sending with the Prime Minister his greetings to the Egyptian Parliament’s Speaker Mr. Ali Abdel-Al.
‏The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, who attended the meeting, affirmed the need for coordination to face the challenges of low oil prices and the Corona crisis, stressing the importance of unifying positions between the two brotherly countries to consolidate security, peace and peaceful coexistence and fight hotbeds and ideology of terrorism.
‏For his part, the Egyptian Prime Minister affirmed that they are in Iraq to deliver a message of support to the government and people of Iraq, conveying the greetings of Egyptian Parliament’s Speaker Mr. Ali Abdel-Al to H.E. Iraqi Parliament’s Speaker, stressing that the next stage will witness a qualitative leap in the relationship between the two countries.
‏The Egyptian ministerial delegation included the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the Minister of Manpower, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, the Minister of International Cooperation, the Minister of Health and Population, the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of Civil Aviation, and the Minister of Trade and Industry.
