‏Al-Halboosi receives members of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordinating Council

‏On Sunday, the Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received the members of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordinating Council, which is holding its meetings in the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of a number of heads of parliamentary committees and the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Hamid al-Ghazi, and discussed the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries and expanding the horizons of joint cooperation in various fields.
‏His Excellency the Speaker affirmed the legislative authority’s support to enhance the work of the Coordinating Council in a way that contributes to implementing its plans on the ground in accordance with the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples, pointing to the importance of activating the Joint Parliamentary Friendship Committee and working to coordinate positions in international, Islamic, Arab and Asian parliamentary forums.
‏For its part, the delegation expressed the desire of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its eagerness to open up and cooperate with Iraq in all fields, stressing that this visit will be a prelude to other official visits, and the Saudi delegation conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Highness the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council to His Excellency the Speaker, who in turn sent his regards to the leadership and people of the Kingdom.
‏The Saudi delegation included the Ministers of Environment, Water and Agriculture Mr. Abdul Rahman al-Fadhli, Industry and Mineral Resources Mr. Bandar al-Khorayef, the Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade Mr. Abdul Rahman al-Harbi, the Undersecretary of the Minister of Energy Mr. Aabed al-Sadoun, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment Mr. Aayed al-Otaibi, the Secretary-General of the Saudi Export Development Authority Saleh al-Salami and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Iraq, Mr. Abdul Aziz al-Shammari.
