Al-Kaabi: Unions, Research Centers, and Academic Centers are partners in the of discussing laws before enacting them

The First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi met in his office today the head of the Iraqi Jurists Union, Mr. Muhammad Numan Al-Daoudi, and his accompanying delegation.

Al-Kaabi said that our country is proud of the existence and activity of many unions, federations, and ancient civil society institutions, as they are leading in the region, the Arab world, and the world, and hence it is important to support, develop and engage these organizations by working with state institutions.

Al-Kaabi valued the Union’s role in highlighting the activity of an important segment within the state’s administrative system.  He said that Iraq is one of the leading countries in the field of establishing federations and unions and also approving the laws that regulate them, as well as being the founder of the Union of Arab Jurists and; therefore, it must remain at the forefront of Arab countries and even the world. In the field of activity of these federations and their important role in all fields of life

His Excellency continued, “The parliamentary committees, especially the legal ones, have to involve the Jurists Union in maturing laws before enacting them in order to ensure the sobriety of these laws, given that this union is the closest to the legal aspect in the work of all state institutions and they have the ability to Diagnosing defects in the laws and instructions regulating them, and this matter does not only apply to the mentioned union. However, the council of Representatives’ approach is focused on engaging all unions, civil society organizations, research centers, and academics, in drafting laws and even proposing draft laws that are required by a specific stage.
