Al-Haddad discusses with a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources in the Kurdistan Region to raise the level of cooperation with the federal government, and paying farmers’ dues for the past years.
The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad today, Tuesday 1/12/2021, received in his official office in Baghdad a delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources in the Kurdistan Region headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources Mrs. ( Begard Talabani ) and included the senior cadre in the ministry, The meeting was attended by a number of representatives and the head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s representative in Baghdad, Mr. Faris Issa, while they discussed the most important files and issues related to the development of the agricultural sector and ways to enhance local production and the need for communication between the two ministries in Baghdad and Erbil .Al-Haddad, on the other hand, chaired the meeting which held between the guest delegation and the head of the Parliamentary Agriculture, Water and Marsh Committee and its members, His Eminence stressed the importance of raising the level of coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources in the region and the Ministries of Agriculture and Water Resources in the federal government and the need to exchange visits and meetings to solve problems and remove obstacles in order to develop the agricultural sector across the country, And providing support to farmers and direct interest in livestock to maximize resources, and the Deputy Speaker of the Council stressed the need to intensify efforts to pay farmers’ dues for the past years (2014-2015-2016), As well as the concern for food security for the Iraqi citizen and reach to self-sufficiency and support for local products and non-dependence on international markets, and facing challenges in light of high population growth.
