Al-Halboosi receives the Jordanian Prime Minister
The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received the Jordanian Prime Minister Mr. Bishr al-Khasawneh, who arrived in Baghdad on Thursday, accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation.
The meeting discussed the understanding and cooperation between the two countries and a number of files of common interest and reviewed the most important findings of joint meetings between Iraq and Jordan, which included various fields, including commercial and economic, energy, transportation, health, agriculture, education, communications, information technology, and cooperation in the private sector as well as the two memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries pertaining to health, higher education and scientific research.
The meeting also touched on the tripartite Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation and stressed the need to accelerate the implementation and activation of the outcomes of the tripartite summit.
H.E. the Speaker stressed the importance of continuing work and strategic coordination between Iraq and Jordan in accordance with mutual interests, pointing to the support of the House of Representatives and strengthening cooperation between the two countries, and working to overcome obstacles through the necessary legislation.
For his part, the Jordanian Prime Minister affirmed his country’s support for Iraq and in all fields and sought to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a way that contributes to achieving development and prosperity, conveying the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the Speaker of Parliament, meanwhile the Speaker conveyed his greetings to King Abdullah, valuing the Jordanian leadership’s position and their stand with Iraq.
