Al-Halboosi meets the President of the Republic
The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi, on Monday met the President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.
The political, security and economic developments in the country were discussed in the meeting, as well as the importance of strengthening security efforts and taking measures to put pressure on terrorist cells, blocking the way to attempts to destabilize the security and stability of citizens, and supporting the security and intelligence services in achieving this goal.
The meeting touched upon the upcoming elections, where the ongoing preparations for organizing the polls were discussed, with an emphasis on the importance of providing the utmost levels of integrity and transparency in the various stages of the electoral process, away from fraud and manipulation.
They also discussed the economic and health conditions facing the country, the importance of taking measures to meet the economic challenges, approving the budget by not involving citizens’ sustenance in political issues, supporting the poor and ensuring the rights of all citizens.
