The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi met with the head of the political body of the Sadrist movement, Mr. Nassar al-Rubaie and a number of its members, to discuss the political, economic and health conditions and the challenges facing the country at the current stage.
The meeting discussed the file of early elections and the need to proceed with the completion of the necessary legislation, including the Federal Supreme Court Law, as it is one of the basic laws for holding the next elections in addition to the importance of creating the appropriate atmosphere for holding free elections that express the citizen’s will and aspirations by choosing his representatives through achieving electoral security in addition to the role of the United Nations and organizations concerned with electoral affairs to restore voter confidence in the electoral process and its results.
They also discussed the issue of the federal budget for the fiscal year 2021.
With regard to the health situation in the country in light of the Corona pandemic, the meeting discussed the parliament’s readiness to support the efforts of the Ministry of Health to provide the vaccine to citizens and all necessary steps to limit its spread.
