On 33rd anniversary of Anfal campaign, al-Kaabi calls for consolidating democratic governance to preserve the freedom and the rights of all Iraqis

The First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hasan Karim al-Kaabi recalled the 33rd anniversary of the Anfal crime committed by the former regime against the Kurds. Al-Kaabi said in a statement issued on Wednesday, April 14, “The black Baath era and its bloody practices against Iraqis exposed to the whole world the ugly face of the Saddam dictatorship that used murder, torture and displacement as a means to perpetuate its rule, even on Iraqis’ dead bodies”
He called for “serious efforts to be made by all components of the people to consolidate the democratic governance and strengthen the state to preserve freedom and rights of all Iraqis, and prioritize the interests of the people who suffered during the rule of the Baath, and to consolidate the foundations of security and stability to move towards building the nation.”
Al-Kaabi concluded his statement by praying for all the martyrs of Iraq in general and for the martyrs of Anfal, in particular, to rest in peace, and for humiliation and shame to be brought upon the unjust Baath era and those who glorify it.
