Al-Kaabi calls on the Ministry of Culture to withdraw and cancel the note sent to the foreign Ministry related to supporting the poet Saadi Youssef in London
The First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi called on the Ministry of Culture to withdraw and cancel the note sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Europe Department, which included the support of the poet Saadi Youssef. The claim was made via a direct phone call today, Friday, with the Ministers of Culture and Foreign Affairs.
Al-Kaabi pointed out “ It seems that the brothers in the Ministry of Culture have not read the writings, poems and public statements of the poet “Saadi Youssef”, the most prominent of which is the poem that tries to undermine and offend the symbol of goodness, beauty, and humanity as a whole, our noble Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family and companions”. He called the two ministries to support writers, journalists, poets, artists and all intellectuals who have enlightened and conscious writings that respect the homeland and the citizen, whether they are inside or outside, and to harness all capabilities to take care of them with the utmost care, considering them being bright and permanent images of Iraq.
