Al-Kaabi demands accountability of all negligent people, immediate investigation of the tragedy of Ibn Al-Khatib, and urgent transport of the injured outside Iraq

 

The First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hassan Karim al-Kaabi called on the government to accelerate accountability of all those who were responsible for the tragedy of the Ibn al-Khatib Hospital fire in Baghdad, which is designated for those infected with Coronavirus, where dozens of people lost their lives and others were injured.

Al-Kaabi called on the government to order an investigation to uncover the circumstances of the painful incident and hold accountable all those who proved their involvement and disregard for the lives of innocent Iraqis. He also called for declaring three days of national mourning and to consider all victims of the tragic disaster as “martyrs”, as well as to expedite transporting the injured outside the country to receive treatment and compensate the victims, and to take urgent and courageous decisions commensurate with the scale of the tragic humanitarian catastrophe.

Al-Kaabi extended his deepest condolences and consolation to the families of the victims, and wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured.
