Al-Haddad confirms that the governmental committee regarding the Ibn al-Khatib incident has intensified its investigation efforts, and the Council of Ministers voted on the recommendations.

In a press release, Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, an observer member of the Governmental Investigative Committee on the Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital fire, confirmed that the committee completed its work after several meetings through which it investigated with all those involved, listened to witness statements, and prepared the necessary recommendations in Its final report to the government. The Deputy Speaker of the Council stated in this statement that “the Council of Ministers voted on the recommendations, the most important of which are:
1- To oblige the Ministry of Health to take legal measures and impose disciplinary penalties against Dr. Salman Hamed, Director of Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital, Dr. Na`im Kadhim, Administrative Associate, and Mr. Ahmed Jassam Ali, civil defense official, relieving them of their positions and downgrading the rank of hospital director in accordance with the law.
2- Relieving the Director-General of Baghdad Health / Rusafa from his post, and obliging the Ministry of Health to take what is required in the implementation of this in accordance with the law.
3- End the case of withdrawal of the hand stipulated in Cabinet Resolution No. (140 of 2021) against the Minister of Health and the Governor of Baghdad. In the conclusion of the statement, the Deputy Speaker of the Council called on all ministries, government departments, and support agencies to take all precautionary measures and to consider safety and protection standards to prevent the recurrence of accidents in state institutions, hospitals, and service departments.
