Al-Halboosi receives a phone call from his Iranian counterpart

The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi, on Tuesday received a phone call from the head of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mr. Muhammad Baqir Qalibaf, where the two parties exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, and wishes that God bless the two countries with security and stability.

During the phone call, they discussed developments in the Palestinian issue and the necessity of exerting efforts by Islamic parliaments to take a serious position regarding the situation in Palestine.

Mr. Qalibaf invited Iraq to participate in the extraordinary meeting hosted by the Islamic Republic of Iran for the Palestine Committee in the Federation of Councils of the Member States of the Islamic Cooperation Organization to discuss the use of parliamentary diplomatic capabilities to support the Palestinian cause and put an immediate end to the attacks of the occupying entity against the Palestinian people.

H.E. the Speaker affirmed Iraq’s firm position on the Palestinian issue, referring to the official and popular positions in Iraq to support the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause in all Arab, Islamic and international forums.
