Al-Haddad sponsors the first conference for victims of the former regime and stresses the need to complete legislation for transitional justice laws and justness for the affected segments.

Under the patronage of the Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, the parliamentary committees (Civil Society Institutions and Parliamentary Development Committee, Committee of Martyrs, Victims and Political Prisoners, Human Rights Committee), held today Monday 12/7/2021 in the parliament building, Shabibi Hall, the first conference for victims of the former regime. In the presence of a number of deputies, political figures, representatives of civil society organizations, sheiks and dignitaries of clans, and a group of victims who had their ears cut off because of their refusal to participate in wars during the days of the former regime.

The Deputy Speaker of the Council, in his speech to the attendees, stressed the need to complete the legislation for transitional justice laws and to justness the segments that were affected by the unjust policies of the previous regime, While Al-Haddad pointed out the importance of intensifying efforts by the parliamentary committees and proceeding to legislate laws or make amendments to the laws in force for the remainder of the current parliamentary session, In lifting the injustice and compensating the affected people financially and morally, whose human rights have been violated, recalling during the speech the injustice, destruction, and genocide that the people of Halabja have been subjected to, and unfortunately they have not obtained their legitimate rights to this day.
