Al-Haddad, during his visit to the Iraqi Scientific Academy, criticizes the government’s neglect of this prestigious institution and stresses the need to open a channel of communication between the Academy and the Council of Representatives to benefit from the expertise of scholars in the sobriety of legislation.

Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad visited today Thursday 5/8/2021, accompanied by the Director-General of the Media Department, Mr. Muhammad Abu Bakr, the Iraqi Scientific Academy in the center of the capital, Baghdad. They were received by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hussein Al Yassin, head of the Iraqi Scientific Academy, and a number of the academy’s cadres.

At the beginning of the meeting, the president of the Academy welcomed the Deputy Speaker and expressed his happiness for the visit. He gave an overview of the history of the Academy, its departments, and its scientific and cultural activities. The Deputy Speaker of the Council stressed the pioneering role of the Iraqi Scientific Academy in the fields of thought, knowledge, culture, and art, It is considered the oldest civilized and scientific interface in the country, calling on His Eminence to the need of strengthen communication and coordination between the Iraqi Scientific Academy and the Iraqi Parliament’s departments to benefit from the expertise of scientists and specialists in the field of sobriety of legislation.

Deputy Speaker During his touring in the Academy’s departments and libraries criticized the apparent neglect of this prestigious institution, Which has been known for its high scientific and academic level in the region and the Arab world for decades, While his Eminence asked the Prime Minister and the concerned authorities demanded to provide support and assistance to rehabilitate this civilized edifice again, Providing it’s needs, activating its work through the recommendations of the committee formed according to Diwani Order No. 36 of 2020, and expediting the selection of qualified members of professors and scientists according to the law of the Iraqi Scientific Academy in force. Al-Haddad pointed to the need to open a channel of communication between the Scientific Academy and the Council of Representatives to benefit from linguists and expertise in the sobriety of legislation and laws.
