Al-Haddad: After the Presidency of Parliament takes over the budget law, serious and intense discussions will take place towards reducing unnecessary expenditures.

The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, announced that the presidium of the Council, and based on Article 58 / Second of the Iraqi Constitution, announced the extension of the current first legislative term for 30 days, Starting from January 3, 2021, until February 3, 2021, for the completion of a number of important laws, including the Federal Budget Law for 2021.

Al-Haddad emphasized that the legislative procedures to complete the federal budget law may take from 20-30 days, and that the parliament will begin the first reading of draft law early next January.

The Deputy Speaker of the Council clarified by saying: “There will be serious and intense discussions towards reducing unnecessary expenditures in the budget law, and reducing the deficit ratio for the middle and poor classes and those with limited income.”
