The First Deputy Speaker Hasan Karim Al-Kaabi met in his office on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 representatives of the Coordination Committee for contracts and daily paid workers of the Ministry of Electricity.
Al-Kaabi said during the meeting, which was attended by MPs Majida al-Tamimi, Adnan al-Zurfi, Amjad al-Aqabi and Mohammed al-Ghazi that “the efforts of the Council of Representatives to appoint the contracts and daily paid workers of the Ministry of Electricity began months ago. Several meetings were held with the Ministry of Finance and parliamentary Finance Committee and representatives of the Council of Ministers.”
He pointed out that the number of contracts and daily paid workers is more than 33 thousand employees, mostly technicians and graduates, working in very dangerous conditions and face death during their duties on a daily basis and everyone knows that there is no entitlements to contractors under the laws in force and so it is important to ensure their rights.”
