Al-Halboosi receives the Italian PM
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received, on Wednesday, the Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed enhancing bilateral relations in a way that will enhance the prospects for joint cooperation.
H.E. affirmed during the meeting the depth of relations between the two countries and the role of Italy and its contribution to support Iraq in the elimination of Daesh, pointing out that the Iraqi people do not forget their friends.
The Speaker added that Iraq has fought a military war in which he won victory on Daesh, and it needs intelligence cooperation to eliminate extremist organizations security and intellectual.
”We have challenges for reconstruction and to take advantage of the experience of Italian companies in this area, as well as the return of displaced people to their cities; to achieve stabilization, and the friends of Iraq have to deliver on their promises; because we fought on behalf of the world,” the Speaker said.
For his part, the Italian Prime Minister pointed out that Iraq is ahead of a very important stage of construction; for prosperity and stability, stressing his country’s support for Iraq in the field of energy, agriculture and archaeology and in all fields.
