Al-Kaabi calls for opening Moroccan embassy in Baghdad

Headed by the First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, The Iraqi parliamentary delegation met on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, with Mr. Saad Eddine El Othmani, head of the Moroccan government.
Al-Kaabi remarked, “The main objective that Iraq is currently seeking through its international participation is to highlight the danger of ISIS and its extremist ideology as it distorted the image of Islam, which has always been a religion of love and tolerance.”
A number of bilateral files were also discussed including the reopening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Baghdad. Mr. Othmani affirmed his support and promised to open it as soon as possible. They stressed the need for the participation of Moroccan companies in the reconstruction of Iraq, due to the considerable experience enjoyed by Moroccan companies.
They discussed the need to facilitate the granting of entry visas to investors and thus contributing to improving the business climate.
Othmani expressed his country’s full support for Iraq, and its firm desire to develop bilateral relations in all fields.
