Al-Halboosi: The world should unite to confront the terrorism

BAGHDAD, IRAQ – The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi condemned, on Friday, the terrorist attack on Muslims in New Zealand during Friday prayers.

“We follow up with shock the terrorist crime that afflicted the worshipers in the attack on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand,” al-Halboosi said, adding that targeting safe worshipers is a heinous crime against humanity and evidence that bloody terrorism targets all countries in the region and the world without exception.

H.E. added that the elimination of terrorism is not limited to fight it militarily, it is necessary to dry the roots of extremist ideology, which requires concerted efforts of the international community to eradicate it seriously, calling on the countries of the world to review the situation and to promote interfaith tolerance.
