Al-Kaabi: Arabs and foreigners looked at the distorted image conveyed by the media about Baghdad

The First Deputy Speaker Mr. Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi received in his office on Sunday, April 7, 2019, a group of ambassadors of the Hope Maker Group and the Head of the Iraqi House of Creativity Foundation Mr. Hesham Al-Dahabi.
The guests talked about their personal experience of their first visit to the capital of Baghdad and the security. Al-Kaabi said, “part of the media, which transferred the security reality of the capital Baghdad and Iraq as a whole, was intended to dramatize events, the other part is true. You cannot forget that Baghdad was exposed to thousands of Car bombs attacks and various methods of killing that targeted the civilian before the military. The difference here is that Iraqis love life and love their country, and therefore we ask you to convey the real picture of what you saw with your eyes on Baghdad, especially as Baghdad has a special place in Arabs’ hearts. Our task is to change the current image of our country for others.”
On her part, the Kuwaiti activist Al-Assassi said that this is the first visit to Baghdad, and that she was surprised by the reality, which is very different from what was conveyed to her through the media. The Iraqi people have found peace and honor and have creative energies, which they do not find in any other city. Mahmoud Wahid of Egypt added that he “admired the insistence of the Iraqi people to continue to progress despite the difficulties experienced while the great powers may not bear such difficulties, and this record for the Iraqi people as a people of ancient civilization and history, and did not hide that he received warnings regarding his rip to Baghdad. He said that he saw Baghdad as “more beautiful than the images, its security, its splendor and its art is splendid,” adding that its safety is stronger than any other city and he hopes to visit it again.
