Parl. Speaker inaugurates Bzeibiz Bridge
The Parl. Speaker on Sunday, inaugurated the modern Bzeibiz concrete bridge on the Euphrates River in the village of Bzeibiz in Amriyat al-Fallujah in Anbar province which links the city with Baghdad and northern Babil province, after it was a floating iron bridge, and witnessed a large displacement and suffering during the war against ISIS terrorist organization.
The inauguration ceremony of the bridge was attended by a number of MPs, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Immigration and Displaced, President of the Iraq Reconstruction Fund, Governor of Anbar, members of the local government and Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the representative of the United Nations.
The Parl. Speaker said that this achievement is an important milestone in the march of construction and reconstruction in Anbar, one of the cities damaged by the military operations in the war against ISIS terrorist organization.
H.E. met with a number of citizens in the village of Bzeibiz, pointing to the start of a new page of stability and civil and community peace in areas where the holy war against terrorism, where poured the blood of the Iraqi people throughout the country.
H.E. also planted a tree near the bridge, an expression of peace, stability and community peace, after he announced earlier accepting the challenge of the UN representative in Iraq, Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert to plant trees for peace.
