COR votes on the legislative proposal to draw the stamp of the national campaign

In its eighth plenary session held on October 15th, 2019 for the first legislative term of the second legislative year, fourth legislative session, the Iraqi council of Representatives voted on the legislative proposal to draw the stamp of the national campaign to build schools and kindergartens and finished reading and discussing 7 laws.
The session was chaired by H.E the Speaker Mohammad al-Halbusi.
At the outset of the session, the council voted on the legislative proposal to draw the stamp of the national campaign to build schools and kindergartens submitted by the Education Committee for providing the necessary funds to build schools and kindergartens to involve all segments of society in providing financial resources required for this purpose.
The Council voted to reject and return the legislative proposal for the first amendment to the law of the Ministry of Education No. (22) of 2011 to the government, on the recommendations of the Education and Finance Committees.
The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal to abolish the offices of general inspectors submitted by the Legal and Integrity Committees, in order to prevent duplication of tasks and to accelerate anti-corruption measures.
The Council also voted to add a paragraph that provides lifting immunity from MP Fayek Sheikh Ali.
The council adjourned a reading report and discussion of Cybercrime law submitted by the Committees of Communications & Media and Services and Reconstruction.
The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal for the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (New York 1958).
The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal of the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the International Land Transportation Convention (1975).
In the same respect, The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal of the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Convention on the Identity of Seafarers No. (185) for the year 2003
The Council completed the first reading of the legislative proposal of the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the 2006 Maritime Labor Convention.
The Council adjourned the first reading of the legislative proposal for the twenty-first amendment to the Employment Law No. (25) for the year 1960 submitted by the Finance and Integrity Committees.
The Council ended during the session, which was then chaired by the Deputy Speaker Dr. Bashir al-Haddad, the first reading of the legislative proposal for Air Force Academy Law.
The Council started reading report and discussing the legislative proposal for Health Insurance Law submitted by the Health and Environment Committee.
On the other hand, the Council discussed a number of important social and service issues, including: Returning the powers of the education directorates in the governorates to the ministry, resolving the issue of delay in granting the rights of the farmers of the Kurdistan region, providing protection for the electors of the regions of the liberated provinces and compensation for the people whose property was destroyed by terrorist operations, in addition to Accelerate the compensation of those affected by floods that swept some provinces during the last winter season.
The session was then adjourned to Tuesday 17/9/2019.
