Al-Halboosi invites Sheikh al-Azhar to visit Iraq
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi made a phone call to His Eminence Sheikh al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb, during which he presented congratulation on Eid al-Fitr, asking Almighty Allah to protect our nation and humanity and lift the hardship and pandemic.
His Excellency expressed all appreciation for the role played by al-Azhar in spreading religious sciences, the culture of moderation, and combating extremism, sending an invitation to Sheikh Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb to visit Iraq, while the latter promised to meet it at the earliest time, stressing that the visit of the Iraqi parliament will be within his agenda during the visit.
