Al-Halboosi meets the political body of the Sadrist movement
The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi met the president of the political body of the Sadrist movement, Mr. Nassar al-Rubaie, to discuss the overall situation in the country.
The meeting discussed the challenges of the health situation in light of the Corona pandemic, the need to develop the available capabilities of the hospitals and places of isolation, the importance of joining all efforts to support the Ministry of Health and its cadres, and allocating the necessary funds to confront the pandemic.
It also discussed the repercussions of low oil prices and the financial crisis, and the need to take into account the living standard of citizens and provide the necessary facilities to restore economic activity that provides job opportunities for the unemployed.
With regard to the elections, the meeting stressed the speedy approval of the final version of the election law, which was previously voted on by the parliament, by completing the electoral district schedule, as well as creating the necessary requirements and conditions to conduct free, fair and honest elections.
On the international level, it was stressed the importance of returning Iraq to its active role in the regional and international system and openness in its relations in accordance with mutual interests, preserving sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.
