Deputy Speaker of Council Of Representatives discusses with the Minister of Culture ways to activate cultural activities and highlight the civilized side and the National Day of Iraq.

Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad stressed the importance of activating cultural activities and paying attention to tourist sites, investing them and employing them to serve the citizens and encourage the economy in the country. His speech came during his reception in his office in Baghdad today, Thursday 9/10/2020, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Hassan Nazim, A number of issues and topics related to the Ministry’s work mechanisms and the continuation of coordination and joint cooperation between the Ministry and the legislative institution to support all activities and events through legislation and laws in force were discussed.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the topic of choosing a suitable day to celebrate the national holiday in the country. For his
EXcellency the Minister presented to the Deputy Speaker a proposal on 3/10 to celebrate the name (National Day) and this date represents the formal accession of Iraq as a sovereign country to the League of the United Nations,, which coincided with the anniversary The independence of Iraq on October 3, 1932 and the announcement of the end of the British mandate, while the two sides stressed the importance of re-establishing Arab-Kurdish cultural forums and other nationalities at the provincial level.
