Al-Haddad is discussing with the International Organization for Migration in Iraq ways to address the file of Yazidi women survivors, with the legislation and laws in force.

Today, Tuesday 8/12/2020, Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, received in his official office in Baghdad a delegation from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Iraq, in the presence of Representative Dr. Khaleda Khalil with (Hala and Viyan) Yazidi survivors,
During the meeting, they discussed ways to deal with the file of Yazidi female survivors, according to the laws and legislation in force.
And the continuation of efforts and endeavors for the Council of Representatives and the concerned committees to provide support and assistance to enable government agencies and institutions to redress the harm and end the suffering of all displaced persons from all components that have been subjected to terrorist crimes and genocide. On the sidelines of the daily activities of the Council of Representatives, Al-Haddad opened the photographic exhibition of the file of Yazidi female survivors, which was held in the lobby of the parliament with the support of the Parliamentary Women, Family and Childhood Committee, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and in the presence of deputies and a number of representatives of civil society organizations.

The Deputy Speaker of the Council stated: “Iraqi women have suffered greatly in periods of war and due to displacement, and the issue of fairness for survivors, kidnapped and missing Yazidi women through laws and legislation is a humanitarian duty, The liberated areas must be reconstructed, basic services provided, and compensated financially and morally in a way that secures a decent life for them from the tragedies and woes they have suffered. The fate of the abductees should be revealed, and the perpetrators of terrorist massacres against ethnic and racial components must be referred to the specialist courts. ”
