Al-Halboosi receives French Ambassador
The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi, on Sunday received the French ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Bruno Hubert.
The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and the continuation of joint cooperation, as a number of projects that will be implemented in Iraq were reviewed, including the establishment of Mosul International Airport and its most important stages, and stressing the importance of speeding up its completion.
The meeting also discussed developments of the political situation in Iraq and the early elections, where the importance of the role of the United Nations and organizations concerned on the electoral issue was emphasized, to enhance the citizen’s confidence in the electoral process and its results.
It has also discussed regional and international developments and a number of files of common interest.
For his part, the French ambassador expressed his country’s aspiration to expand the horizons of joint cooperation, stressing France’s support for Iraq in all fields in order to achieve development and stability.
