Al-Halboosi meets Masrour Barzani
The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi, on Monday met the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments of the situation in Iraq and the region, especially preparations for the upcoming Iraqi elections and finding ways to hold free and fair elections that guarantee the rights and aspirations of the various Iraqi components.
It was emphasized the need to fundamentally solve the outstanding problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region on the basis of the constitution.
The meeting also dealt with the dangers posed by terrorism in general, especially the threats posed by ISIS in many areas of Iraq, and the real threat it poses to the lives of people, in addition to stressing the importance of security coordination between the Peshmerga (Kurdish military forces) and the Iraqi army and uniting efforts and capabilities to confront terrorism and its threats.
