Al-Haddad discusses with the Japanese ambassador in Baghdad ways to enhance economic cooperation and establish a long-term strategic partnership project between the two countries.

The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, received in his official office in Baghdad today, Tuesday, 22/6/2021, the Ambassador of the State of Japan in Iraq, Mr. Kotaro Suzuki. During the meeting, which was attended by Representatives Shibal Hassan, a member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, and Amer Hussein Al-Fayez, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, They discussed a number of files and issues of common interest, foremost of which is the development of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, And ways to enhance prospects for joint cooperation in various economic, commercial, technological and investment fields, and the contribution of Japanese companies to reconstruction and infrastructure, as well as cooperation in combating the Corona pandemic.

 

The Deputy Speaker of the Council praised, in the context of his speech, Japan’s role in the important stage after 2003 and its support for the success of the democratic process in Iraq, His Eminence called for the establishment of a long-term strategic partnership project between the two friendly countries, and to benefit from Japan’s experiences in promoting economic development and industries, stressing the Parliament’s support for ways to strengthen and develop relations between the two countries.

 

the Japanese ambassador, for his part, expressed his happiness at this meeting to discuss important files and issues between the two countries, He reiterated his country’s government’s support for Iraq in a manner that serves common interests and enhances stability in Iraq, Japan’s readiness to continue support and cooperation in all fields and to support the Iraqi government’s policy and endeavors regionally and internationally for stability throughout the region.
