Al-Halboosi meets the President of the French Senate

‏The Parliament’s Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi and his accompanying delegation met, on Wednesday, the President of the French Senate, Mr. Gerard Larcher in Paris.
‏The meeting discussed relations between the two countries and the strengthening of strategic cooperation in the field of economy, investment and security to combat the terrorist organization ISIS.
‏The Parliament’s Speaker stressed the importance of Iraq’s security and economic support in order to achieve stability, calling for expanding the participation of French companies to invest in Iraq and speeding up the implementation of strategic projects agreed upon between the two countries, and the need to open a headquarters for the French Development Agency in Baghdad to facilitate the provision of economic support to Iraq.
‏For his part, the President of the French Senate expressed his country’s readiness to provide political, economic and security support to Iraq, pointing to France’s readiness to provide its experience, support with ideas and consultations for the formation of the second legislative chamber (the Federation Council) in Iraq, and the continuation of cooperation to combat extremism and terrorism and to contribute a greater role in reconstruction in Iraq, stressing that France is making efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
