Al-Haddad: There are commonalities and historical ties between the Iraqi and Jordanian peoples, and common challenges that we must face, We seek to direct the conversations with the Jordanian Parliament to enhance the outcomes of the Baghdad Summit.
The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad, received in the lobby the First Deputy Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, Mr. Ahmed Al-Safadi, and the accompanying parliamentary delegation, while His Eminence participated in a round of official discussions that were held between the Iraqi Parliament and his Jordanian counterpart in the Constitutional Hall, in the presence of the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Muhammad Al-Halbousi and the Speaker of the Jordanian Council of Representatives, Mr. Abdel Moneim Al-Awdat, as well as the heads of the parliamentary blocs and committees in the Iraqi Parliament attended it. At first, Al-Haddad welcomed the guest delegation, wishing the Jordanian brothers a pleasant stay in their second country, Iraq.
The Deputy Speaker of the Council, during his speech, indicated that: “there are commonalities and historical ties between the Iraqi and Jordanian peoples, and common challenges facing the two countries. We must confront them in cooperation and coordination, and we seek to direct conversations with the Jordanian Parliament to enhance the outcomes of the Baghdad Summit,” while His Eminence called on the permanent parliamentary committees between the two councils. To hold dialogues and meetings to reach a set of economic, commercial, and industrial understandings and agreements, as well as those related to energy, transport, and investment, and pave the way for raising the level of cooperation and trade exchange to serve the common interests between the two neighboring countries.
